Cascade Animal Protection Society

Welcome,

I met a volunteer connected with the Cascade Animal Protection Society this past weekend. It was not only uplifting to hear of their work in caring for animals but to observe the adoption of a young cat. It was most gratifying to see the bond created as the cat responded to the warm embrace of woman who had recently lost her feline. Joy filled all of their faces i.e. cat, woman, and her husband alike. I knew that this would be a good match and could just imagine the love and fun they would all have together.

Rather then recreate the wheel, let me share this descriptive quote from a CAPS flyer which gives a good view at what they are all about:

“CASCADE ANIMAL PROTECTION SOCIETY (CAPS) is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, injured, and unwanted animals in the Puget Sound area. The animals we take into our care (a limited number) live in foster homes until a permanent, responsible home is found. All our animals are vaccinated and altered when old enough. All incoming cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and AIDA virus.

CAPS has a NO KILL policy. We do not euthanize healthy animals; rather they remain in our care until a good home can be found. We are committed to the animals we place, and will take them back into our care if needed.

CAPS PROMOTES THE SPAYING AND NEUTERING OF ALL DOGS AND CATS TO HELP STOP THE NEEDLESS EUTHANIZATION OF ANIMALS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.

FOSTER HOMES

CAPS always needs foster homes for dogs and cats. Every foster home we have enables us to take in and save ONE MORE ANIMAL’S LIFE.

The foster home provides love, care, housing and training until an adoptive home is found. CAPS provides medical care and vaccinations. Food is also provided if needed.

If you have room, time and love, GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE TO A HOMELESS ANIMAL. PLEASE CALL NOW: 253.863.8004.”

Volunteers run this organization and new volunteers are always welcome. CAPS is located in Sumner, Washington and you are invited to participate in this organization.

Next entry: CAPS PETLINE service.

Blessings, Linda
